📅 Booking & refunds

How do I book?
Pick how many hours you need and a free time on the booking page, then pay for your first hour by card. You'll get a confirmation email straight away.
Why do I pay the first hour up front?
Every job has a 1-hour minimum. It's what makes the trip worth it, and paying it when you book means the slot is properly yours. Neither of us gets let down on the day. If the job's done early, the rest of the hour is yours: another job, a tidy-up, or just a chat and a cuppa.
Is the booking payment refundable?
Yes, if you cancel at least 24 hours before your slot you get it back in full, or you can move your booking for free. If you cancel with less notice, or I can't get in when I arrive, it covers my time and isn't refunded.
What if the job takes less time than I booked?
You only pay for the time I work, rounded to the nearest half hour. There's a 1-hour minimum on every job, which is the part you pay when you book.
What if you can't do my job?
I can turn down any job, before the day or when I arrive. If I do, you get your booking payment back in full.

💷 Prices & paying

Why is the price going up in April?
£15 is a launch price while I build up reviews. From 1 April 2027 minimum wage goes up, and my price goes up to £18 an hour so it stays around minimum wage after tax. Any job booked for a date before 1 April 2027 stays at £15.
How do I pay for the rest?
On the day, before I leave: cash, or card online through the Pay page on your phone (I can help with that). Card reader coming soon. I can text you a payment link with the amount already filled in.
Why so cheap?
Because I'm not a tradesman. I'm a spare pair of hands: you point, I do. It's honest, unskilled help priced around minimum wage, so you're not paying trade rates for jobs that don't need a trade.

🧰 The jobs

What jobs will you do?
Cleaning, rearranging furniture, bins, leaves, Christmas decorations, light decorating, tech set-up and help, and pretty much anything else you'd rather not do. Have a look at services, or just ask.
Do you do laundry and change beds?
Yes. I'll strip and change the beds, and wash, dry and fold your laundry using your machine while I crack on with other jobs.
Do you clean windows?
Yes: ground-floor windows on the outside, and every window on the inside. I don't use ladders, so I can't do upstairs windows from outside.
Do you do gardening?
Light gardening, yes: weeding, general tidy-ups, sweeping leaves and clearing up. I'm not a gardener, so no landscaping, design, tree work or tall hedges.
What won't you do?
Anything that needs a qualified trade, like gas, electrics or plumbing, or work at real height. I'll tell you straight and point you to someone who can.
Do I need to provide anything?
I bring my own basic tools and cleaning kit. If you prefer particular products, leave them out for me. Anything I buy for the job is added at cost.
Can I leave a tip?
Tips are never expected, but if you'd like to, there's a tip jar on the Pay or tip page. Thank you!
Are you DBS checked?
Yes, I have a current basic DBS check. I'm happy to show you the certificate before I start.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have public liability insurance for handyman work and domestic cleaning.

📍 Area & other bits

Can I book more than 4 hours?
Online bookings go up to 4 hours. For a full day or anything bigger, get in touch and we'll sort a date.
Where do you cover?
All of Torbay (Paignton, Torquay, Brixham and around), from my base in Roselands. Online booking is for TQ1 to TQ5 postcodes.
Will you travel further?
Yes, anywhere in the South West for jobs of 5 hours or more. Get in touch first so we can agree the details.
Do you do meal prep?
Coming soon. I'm waiting on council approval to register as a food business. More about meal prep.
Do you do dog walking or pet sitting?
Coming soon, once my pet care insurance is in place: dog walks and pet visits in your own home. More about pet care.
Can you do bin day for me, or for my mum or dad?
Yes. I put your bins out the night before and bring them back in after collection, 2 weeks of bin days for £15. It's set up by enquiry rather than online booking, so get in touch and we'll sort the days. Pay as you go, no contract, stop any time. I have a current basic DBS check. I never cold call or knock asking for work, and I'll never ask for your bank or card details. You only ever pay for work you've booked.
Can you pick up my shopping?
Yes. I'll do it on the way to you, and my time starts when I walk into the shop. You pay back the cost of the shopping when I drop it off, with the receipt, by cash or on the Pay page.
Are the photos real?
Not yet. The photos are AI-generated examples for now. Real photos of my work will follow as jobs get booked. Faces are covered with the OddJob smiley, mine included, and I'll never show your face or your house number without asking.

📋 The rules (short and simple)

  1. 1-hour minimum, every job. The first hour is paid when you book. It's what makes the trip worth it. And if your job only takes 10 minutes, the rest of the hour is still yours: I'm happy to do anything else you need, or just stop for a cuppa and be a friendly ear.
  2. After that, by the half hour. Any extra time is paid on the day, before I leave: cash, or card online through the Pay page on your phone (I can help with that). Card reader coming soon.
  3. Cancel with 24 hours' notice and you get your booking payment back, or move it for free. Less notice than that, and it covers my time.
  4. I can turn down any job. Before the day or when I get there. If I do, you get your booking payment back in full. No arguments.
  5. No trade work. No gas, electrics, plumbing or big heights. I'll point you to someone who can.
  6. No funny business. I never cold call or knock asking for work, and I'll never ask for your bank or card details. You only ever pay for work you've booked.
